Short answer: Vivint does not publish a flat-percentage military discount. Instead it offers two real things: special contract accommodations for active-duty service members who deploy or relocate, through its military policy, and a gated member offer for verified service members through GOVX (currently four months of free monitoring plus free professional installation).
Who qualifies
Vivint’s military-families policy is aimed at active-duty service members, with specific provisions for those who deploy or receive PCS orders. Through GOVX, eligibility is broader and follows GOVX’s standard rules: active duty, veterans, law enforcement, fire, EMS, and government employees who verify their status with a GOVX ID.
What you get
The military-families policy is mainly contract flexibility, not a coupon. Active-duty members can cancel without an early-termination fee when they are deployed (commonly cited at six or more months), receive PCS orders, are medically discharged, or move onto a base with orders or an on-base lease; the “Military Moves” program also lets active members relocate their system without relocation, reinstallation, or reactivation fees. The catch is that the policy applies to active-duty members and does not state a national discount percentage or dollar amount, since equipment pricing is customized per quote. Separately, GOVX advertises a member offer of four months of free monitoring plus free professional installation for verified service members, but the exact terms change over time, so confirm the current offer before you commit. Vivint’s general new-customer deals (free professional installation on qualifying purchases and up to a few months of free monitoring) are not military-specific.
How to claim it
For contract accommodations, call Vivint directly and ask about their military policy and deployment exceptions; have your orders or status documentation ready. For the member offer, verify through GOVX (govx.com), which confirms your status with a GOVX ID and then shows the current Vivint offer. Either way, get the final price and contract terms in writing before signing.
