Short answer: STIHL has no national military or veteran discount. STIHL Inc. states plainly that it “does not offer specials or discounts” – pricing is set by independent local dealers, so any savings depend entirely on the store you walk into.
Who qualifies
There is no corporate eligibility list because there is no corporate program. STIHL does not run a verified military offer for active duty, veterans, retirees, Guard, or Reserve. Whether you get a deal comes down to the individual authorized dealer, and many do not give one at all.
What you get
From STIHL itself: nothing standing. The company sells through 10 distributors who supply independent dealers, and those dealers set their own prices and promotions. The catch is that this varies by location – one dealer may quietly knock a bit off for service members, another offers nothing, and premium brands like STIHL are often excluded from a store’s general military discount. Ignore the “10% off,” “15% off,” “up to 25%,” or “$50 code” military claims on coupon-aggregator sites; STIHL does not publish any such military rate, and those numbers do not trace back to any official STIHL source.
How to claim it
- Call or visit your local authorized STIHL dealer and ask directly about a military, veteran, or first-responder price. Bring your military ID or VA card.
- Check retailers that carry STIHL, such as participating Ace Hardware stores. Ace lists a “save up to $50 on select STIHL outdoor power tools” offer through WeSalute, which requires a verified WeSalute membership to redeem – eligible items and amounts vary, and not every STIHL product is included.
- Time your purchase around seasonal dealer promotions and STIHL’s free-battery or loyalty offers, which anyone can use.
