Short answer: Spectrum (Charter) does not offer a standing military or veteran discount as of 2026, so the real savings come from its low-income program and federal servicemember protections instead.
Who qualifies
There is no military-status tier, so rank, branch, or veteran status alone does not unlock a price. Where servicemembers and veterans do save is through programs open to anyone who meets the criteria:
- Households with a member in the National School Lunch Program (including the Community Eligibility Provision) qualify for Spectrum Internet Assist.
- Seniors 65 and older who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) also qualify for Internet Assist.
- Active-duty servicemembers relocating on orders are protected from early-termination fees under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA).
What you get
Spectrum Internet Assist is Charter’s low-cost broadband plan, around $25 per month at the time of writing, with a modem included. The catch: you must meet the benefit-based eligibility above, you cannot have had Charter service in the prior 30 days, and any past-due Charter balance from the last year must be cleared first. The federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) that once added a monthly credit ended in June 2024 and has no direct federal replacement, though the Lifeline program may still apply for some households.
How to claim it
There is no ID.me or SheerID military verification with Spectrum. To apply for Internet Assist, complete the online application on Spectrum’s site and upload proof of your qualifying benefit (a free/reduced-lunch document or an SSI award letter). For SCRA fee protection when you move, contact Spectrum customer service and provide a copy of your military orders.
