A RARE FIND!
Nice antique original Victorian trade card from A. N. Wilson & Sons of Greenville, Ohio
Front features a portrait of August N. Wilson, a well-known local businessman. He was also the inventor of a clamp for carpet-making that would hold together strips of carpet which were to be sewed. This clamp was patented under date of August 5, 1890, and proved to be a practical invention, being sold to progressive merchants in various sections of the United States. Mr. Wilson was also elected Mayor of Greenville in 1903.
Back includes a handwritten advertisement that reads: "For Christmas / During all of the weeks before Christmas we will offer our entire lot of dress stuffs at prices that will interest the closest buyers - Please call before Saturday's rush. / A. N. Wilson & Sons"
