Country and Era: This coin was issued by the Polish People's Republic (Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa), the official name of Poland from 1952 to 1989.
Composition and Specifications: It is made of copper-nickel, weighs 10.15 grams, has a diameter of 29 mm, and a thickness of 1.95 mm.
Design:
Obverse: Features the White Eagle, which is the national coat of arms of Poland. The lettering "POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA" (Polish People's Republic) and the year "1973" are also present. The engraver for this side was Anna Jarnuszkiewicz.
Reverse: Depicts a high-rise building and a field of grain behind the value, "20 ZŁ" (20 Zlotys). Anna Jarnuszkiewicz also designed this side.
Circulation and Demonetization: This type of 20 Zlotys coin was in standard circulation in Poland from 1973 to 1976 and was demonetized on January 1, 1995, during the redenomination of the Polish Zloty.
