Kachina wolf doll (B)

These beautiful dolls can only be found, for sale, in the Desert Southwest area, of America, and each design is unique, because they are hand crafted, by individual artists. This piece is signed wolf and has artist's name on bottom of wooden base. It is hand painted and handcrafted from wood, leather, and white fur that is probably rabbit fur. It has 4 long sharp teeth and is carrying a leather shield. No defects. Approximate measurements 11" tall, 6" deep, and 7" wide. This is truly a collector's item.
Kachina dolls are not toys. Instead, they signify an important connection between Southwestern Native American tribes and the powers of nature. The oldest known figure is from the 1700s. They were sold to tourists beginning in the 1800s and continue to be a very collectible type of Native American art.
