The device works great, with only mild scuffing and other signs of use. Most notably, the two rubber feet on the back are gone (see photos). There used to be some corrosion in the battery compartments, but I've cleaned that out as best I can and there doesn't seem to be any lingering issues from that. (Requires 4 AA batteries, not included.)
One tricky thing: To power off, you must hold down the Off button and then press the On button. I don't know if this is a defect, or the original function. But it works that way now. :-)
The game cartridge "Dora: The Explorer: Twins Day" will be included, and works great (though it has some teeth marks on it...). A mini-USB cord will be provided for optional connection to your computer, and you can supposedly get free games to download from the company website, but I have not tried this. There is no manual, but use is fairly straightforward and instructions can be found online if needed.
