Romantic Village West German Plate

Limited edition German Collector's Plate titled "Waschtag am Fluss" (Washing Day by the River" third issue in the series, "Off the Main Roads: Romantic Village Views." The original artwork was created exclusively for this collection by artist Helmut Glassi. The scene is set in a idyllic landscape by a fresh water lake where a farmer's wife is throwing her washing in a hearty swing and grasping the end firmly as she drags it through the cold water. The reverse of the plate in German translates, "This is plate #9987A entitled 'Washday by the River' third edition in the Collection "Away from the Main Roads: Romantic Village Views'. The original was created by the contemporary artist Helmut Glassi especially for this collector's plate series and transferred to fine porcelain by Johann Seltmann, Vohenstrauss. The edition is limited to 95 firing days." The 8" signed plate with a certificate of authenticity and a description in both English and German is included in the original box.
