Category

This antique magneto telephone/phone box is from the late 19th century/early 20th century.

Magneto telephone is characterized by the hand crank on the side used to generate a ringing signal to the operator or another party.

Primarily constructed from wood, with metal components for the bells and internal mechanisms.

The two large, round objects on the top are the bells, which would ring to indicate an incoming call. The hand crank on the right side (which is missing) is used to generate the electrical signal for calling.

Cannot find any markings regarding the brand/company that manufactured it.

Best guess is its a Kellogg phone made by Western Electric.

FEATURES

-Wood phone frame is intact but does have some scratches, paint specks and wear.

-Hole for receiver but receiver missing.

-Screws shut
