The first (legal) casinos in the Bahamas opened in the mid-1960’s, beginning a wave of marketing, encouraging luxury tourism to this tropical paradise. This hand-painted ceramic stein/mug is a product of that era.
Off-white glazed ceramic mug (just over 6.5” tall and 3.25” wide), illustrated with a map of the island denoting Freeport and West End, with gambling images (dice, poker chips, cards, roulette wheel, billiard balls), a palm tree and tropical flowers. Embellished with a gilt rim and handle.
No maker’s mark.
Very good used vintage condition; minor paint loss to bottom graphic of “Grand Bahama Island,” please see pics.
