I recently acquired this from an affluent estate. It is a Maitland Smith lamp with a large bronze clown figure. The figure has a childlike face and a sunburst on his costume. This appears to be a fairly rare Maitland Smith lamp as I have not been able to find another online. I'm not sure on the date, but it is post-1981 when they started manufacturing in the Philippines.
The lamp is approximately 30" to the top of the finial. The bronze sculpture is about 17.5" tall and is quite impressive. The shade is 16" diameter at the bottom and about 9" tall. The base is painted to look like marble, and I believe it is either wood or a composite of some type. I didn't want to peel off the felt to look closer.
The condition is excellent. There are a few spots of wear on the paint around the green base on the edges and around where the base the lamp post from rubbing. The figure itself is excellent with no obvious signs of wear and no chips or repairs. Leather shade is in excellent condition with
