He won the gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games, defeating Russia's three-time reigning Olympic gold medalist Aleksandr Karelin in the final; Karelin was previously unbeaten for 13 years in international competition. To say the victory sent shockwaves through the wrestling world would be a profound understatement. Karelin retired after the match with an astonishing career record of 887-2. It is considered one of the Greatest upsets in sports period along with the USA Hockey Team beating Russia in 1980! In 2010, he was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a distinguished member. Very unique piece to add to any collection!
