This random Crazy Quilt is completed in 4 large quadrants with 16 1/2” circular center. The blocks are completed by hand using the “flip and sew” method on a base fabric. The blocks are then hand assembled. The seams of each path, as well as the joining seams between blocks, are embroidered with a variety of stitches and various colored perle cotton (see attached photos). A 2 1/2” red velvet border completes the quilt. Quilt is believed to have been made by Lenna Kiester of Dixon, Illinois. Lenna was born in 1875 and was a dress maker. A small table runner (14”x 48”) accompanies the quilt. The runner has decorative fabric crocheted ends, a finish backing and a red and gold braided edge finish.
