Has been used, still works great. I had to go back to water in a bowl for my kitty cause he was drinking an excessive amount of water so we had to limit his water intake. Was a really cute and fun water fountain. The nose and whiskers lights up white to let you know the bowl is full and will light up red when the bowl is getting low. You can purchase the square Catit filters on Amazon for pretty cheap, they also have an off brand that works just as great for a more affordable price. We changed ours out once a month.
Comes with everything needed to hydrate your pets. I originally got it for $35 at homegoods about a year ago.
